I'm completely obsessed with the Sock Monkey from the Kia Sorento commercial. I won't explain it. I can't justify it. I refuse defend it. It is what it is. I've gone so far as to become a fan of the Sock Monkey's Facebook group and even to find out where I can get a monkey of my own (I just have to make sure he has the mom tattoo he gets in the commercial).
He's just a jet skiing, snow angel-making, mechanical bull-riding, tattoo-getting, club-going rockin' good time. Oh yeah, and he bowls! I love this commercial and yes, the You Tube version of the full 1:00 minute commercial is bookmarked on my Blackberry.
When I purchase my sock monkey (his name is Diggbee), his job is to sit strapped into the passenger's seat and dream up exciting places we can go in the Mazda. Zoom, Zoom, Zoom! Woo-Hoo!
I'd bring him into the house, but I think he'd just feel confined. Diggbee needs his freedom. Plus, he looks a lot like some of Joey's toys and I'm sure he would not appreciate being dragged around the house in the teeth of a toy poodle, though they might have some nice evenings sitting together by the fire.
I wonder, and let me know what you think, do I need to get a companion for Diggbee? Maybe the Teddy Bear, so he doesn't get lonely. The weies red thing is completely out of the question, although he's a party guy too.
In Chinese astrology, my sign is that of the monkey, that could have something to do with it. Whatever it is, I love him and I don't care!
